This article explains how to upgrade the Cloudamize agent to the latest version on Linux servers.
Overview
You can upgrade the Cloudamize Agent on a Linux server by running the upgrade script that comes with the agent. There's no need to uninstall the current agent first.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure that:
-
Access: You have root or sudo access on the server.
-
Network: The server can reach the Cloudamize endpoint for your region over HTTPS (port 443), through your proxy if you use one:
-
US:
am.cloudamize.com -
EU:
am-de.cloudamize.com -
UAE:
am-ae.cloudamize.com
-
Upgrade steps
-
Run the upgrade script and display its exit code. Run both on one line so that the exit code belongs to the script:
sudo /usr/local/cloudamize/bin/update_ccagent.sh; echo "Exit code: $?"
-
Check the result. The script's exit code tells you the outcome:
|
Exit code |
Meaning |
|---|---|
|
|
Upgraded successfully |
|
|
Upgrade failed |
|
|
Agent is already up to date |
To see the installed version:
cat /usr/local/cloudamize/bin/ccversion.txt
-
Confirm that the agent is running. The script stops the agent before upgrading, so please verify that it is running again afterwards.
ps -aux | grep CCAgent
ps -aux | grep check_cloudamized
If either process is not running, start it with:
cd /usr/local/cloudamize/bin/ && sudo ./check_cloudamized.sh
Troubleshooting
If the upgrade script is missing: The script is included with Cloudamize Agent version [ ] and later. If your agent is older, reinstall it using the install command from the Agent Setup tab in the Cloudamize console.
If the download or signature check fails, or the upgrade fails: Contact Cloudamize Support and include the script output, the exit code, and the agent logs. To collect the logs, run:
tar -czvf cloudamize-logs.tar.gz /usr/local/cloudamize/logs/
