Compute Details

The Compute tab provides a detailed, asset-by-asset analysis of all discovered compute resources. This view is crucial for IT teams and cloud architects to understand current infrastructure, review performance metrics, and evaluate Cloudamize's specific recommendations for cloud migration and optimization.

The Compute tab provides a comprehensive table listing every server or virtual machine discovered during the assessment. This table provides a wealth of information for each asset, as described below:

Column Header

Description

Group Name

User-defined name of the asset group or logical grouping.

Asset

A user-defined name or unique identifier for the asset.

Server Name

Machine's hostname.

IP Address

IP address of the server.

OS

Installed operating system (e.g., Windows, Linux).

OS Version

Specific version of the operating system.

Recommended Instance

Recommended cloud instance type for the workload (e.g., t3a.large).

Available vCPU

Number of virtual CPUs available for the recommended instance.

Tenancy

Specifies whether the instance tenancy is Shared or Dedicated.

Constraint

Any specific constraints on the server, such as licensing restrictions.

MS SQL Edition

Edition of Microsoft SQL Server that’s detected on the machine.

SQL Version

Version number of the detected SQL Server instance.

On Time (%)

The percentage of time the server is observed to be running.

Recommended Daily On Time (%)

Recommended percentage of daily uptime.

Recommended Weekly On Time (%)

Recommended percentage of weekly uptime.

Observed vCPU

Number of vCPUs observed during the analysis period.

Recommended vCPU

Recommended number of vCPUs for optimal performance and cost.

Current CPU Utilization (%)

Percentage of current or average CPU utilization.

Predicted CPU Utilization (%)

Predicted CPU utilization percentage based on a chosen cloud model.

Max Allowed CPU Utilization (%)

Maximum allowable CPU utilization percentage.

Observed Memory Provisioned (GB)

Total memory provisioned on the server in gigabytes.

Peak Memory Used (GB)

The highest memory usage is observed during the analysis.

Recommended Memory (GB)

Recommended memory in GB for an optimal cloud instance.

Is Graviton Eligible?

A status indicator showing a green checkmark for ARM-compatible systems or a dash for ineligible configurations.

Graviton Application Compatibility Score (%)

A color-coded percentage representing the ease of migrating the software stack to Graviton. The number represents what % out of total packages are graviton compatible

Graviton Supported Application Count

The total number of detected software packages confirmed to be ARM-compatible.

Graviton Unsupported Application Count

The count of software packages that lack native support for Graviton processors.

Annual Total Cost ($)

Total projected annual cost for running the workload in the cloud.

Annualized Upfront Cost ($)

Upfront cost is annualized for committed use discounts (e.g., Reserved Instances).

Annual Dedicated Instance Fees ($)

Annual fees for using dedicated instances.

Region

The cloud region where the instance is recommended to be provisioned.

Pricing Plan

Pricing model applied (e.g., On-Demand, Reserved, Savings Plan).

ID (server name + uid)

A unique identifier for the server, combining its name and a unique ID.

Search and Filtering

  • Search Bar: A search bar at the top right allows users to quickly find specific assets by Name, Group, IP Address, or OS.

  • Filter Options: The "All Infrastructures" dropdown allows for filtering the displayed assets based on different criteria.

The Compute tab is an essential tool for rightsizing and optimizing a cloud migration. It provides a data-driven basis for selecting the most appropriate cloud instances, which directly impacts both performance and cost.
