Reinstalling the Cloudamize Agentless Data Collector (ADC)

Summary

This article outlines the procedure for reinstalling or updating the Cloudamize Agentless Data Collector (ADC) to a new version or when changing portal workspaces. Following these steps ensures that your configured target hosts, IP ranges, and credentials stored in HostInfo.xml are preserved without requiring manual re-entry.

Reinstallation Procedure

Step 1: Backup Monitored Host Configuration

The Cloudamize ADC stores all target host metadata, IP ranges, and credentials locally. Before uninstalling or running an update, you must back up these files.

  1. Open File Explorer and navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\CloudamizeAgentlessDC\

  2. Copy the following files to a safe location outside the installation directory (e.g., your Desktop):

    • HostInfo.xml

    • HostInfoBackup.xml

Step 2: Download the Latest ADC Installer

  1. Log in to your Cloudamize Consolehttps://console.cloudamize.com/.

  2. Navigate to Discover → Setup → Agentless Setup.

  3. Download the latest Agentless Data Collector installer executable package.

  4. Note your Customer Key displayed on the download page.

Step 3: Uninstall Existing ADC & Stop Services

  1. Open Windows Services (services.msc).

  2. Locate and stop the CloudamizeAgentlessDC services.

  3. Open Add or Remove Programs / Programs and Features in Windows Control Panel.

  4. Select Cloudamize Agentless Data Collector and click Uninstall.

Step 4: Install the New ADC Version

  1. Right-click the downloaded installer file and select Run as Administrator.

  2. Complete the setup wizard.

  3. When prompted, enter the Customer Key associated with your workspace.

  4. Complete the installation wizard.

Step 5: Restore Host Configuration & Verify

  1. Immediately open Services (services.msc) and Stop the newly installed CloudamizeAgentlessDC service.

  2. Copy your backed-up HostInfo.xml and HostInfoBackup.xml back into: C:\Program Files (x86)\CloudamizeAgentlessDC\

    (Select Replace the file in the destination when prompted).

  3. Start the CloudamizeAgentlessDC service in services.msc.

  4. Open the Cloudamize ADC application interface from the taskbar/start menu, and confirm that all monitored target hosts and their connection statuses are displayed as active.
